Lynchburg Woman Killed In Crash On 29 South

A Lynchburg woman was killed in a collision Tuesday morning on 29 South in North Garden. 78-year-old Ethel Loretta Geoffroy of Lynchburg was the passenger in a truck going southbound on Monacan Trail when it was broadsided by a work vehicle coming out from Plank Road. County Police say it appears that the work vehicle ran the stop sign. The driver of the pickup truck remains in critical condition at UVA Hospital. The driver and passenger in the work truck were treated and released.
