Robbery On Railroad Tracks Off Preston Avenue

There was a robbery Thursday afternoon on the Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks west of Reid’s Supermarket in the 600-block of Preston Avenue. City Police say a man with a gun struck the victim in the face and took his money shortly after 1:30 p.m. The suspect is described as a heavy set man who’s at least 5’10″ and wore blue jeans and a grey shirt. He’s believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties. The Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad treated the victim who’s in his mid-fifties at the scene.
