The trustees of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library System have approved a more than $6 million budget proposal. The big-ticket item is the new Northside Library. The library system is creating a new Northside branch on West Rio Road, and leaving its rented space in Albemarle Square. The proposed budget also includes a 3% salary increase for employees who get satisfactory evaluations. The spending plan must go to the city, along with Albemarle, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.
