Redskins Reportedly Seeking To Fire Shanahan Without Pay

The Washington Redskins may not only want to get rid of head coach Mike Shanahan, but not pay him as well.  The “Washington Post” reports they are trying to figure out how to fire Shanahan without paying him the remaining money on his contract.  He is signed through 2014 at seven-million-dollars per season.  The ‘Skins may contend that Shanahan violated terms of his contract by allegedly leaking to ESPN that he considered quitting his job over frustration with owner Daniel Snyder.  In his fourth season, Shanahan is 24-and-36 as coach of the Redskins, including 3-and-10 this season.
