Redskins Blogger Throws In Towel After Two Weeks On Job

A blogger who was hired by the Washington Redskins to defend the team’s name has quit two weeks after he took the job. Ben Tribbett tweeted his resignation this week, saying he didn’t want to be a distraction because of personal attacks directed toward him. Tribbett is a behind the scenes advocate for liberal causes in Virginia. In May, 50 of the 55 Democrats in the U.S. Senate, at the urging of their Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- Nevada), publicly urged the Redskins to find a new name.
