Prisons Meet Federal Sexual Assault Prevention Guidelines

A milestone in reducing sexual assault in prison. The Virginia Department of Corrections says it’s achieved that. They say several state lockups have reached full compliance under the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act. The law is designed to make sure inmates are protected from sexual violence by staff or other prisoners. The standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act went into effect two years ago.
