University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan joined President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for an event that deals with increasing college opportunities.  Sullivan (pictured in red) was part of a one-day summit Thursday at the White House.  She was joined by Sarah Turner of the UVA Economics Department and Ben Castleman of UVA’s Curry School of Education. Turner has researched the reasons why high-achieving, low-income teens choose not to enroll in the nation’s top colleges. Castleman’s research focuses on supporting prospective first-generation college students through an application process.
