City Police have identified the man who became Charlottesville’s first homicide victim of the year. Police say 30-year-old Antonio Lamar Washington died Saturday morning at the UVA Medical Center. Washington was admitted with severe chest injuries after what police describe as a disorder at the Al Hamraa restaurant in the former Frank Ix building. Authorities were called to the Moroccan-themed nightspot at around 1 a.m. Saturday. Al Hamraa is in the 900-block of Second Street S.E., and frequently hosts late night parties. Police say Washington’s death remains under investigation.
