Pedestrian Killed On 250 East On Pantops

A pedestrian was killed in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday on 250 East a short distance from its intersection with Rolkin Road. Albemarle Police say a vehicle that was going east on 250 struck the pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The victim died at the scene shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday. The pedestrian’s name is not being released pending notification of the next of kin. This was the county’s fourth fatal crash of the year.
