Our Region Gets Buried By Mid-Winter Storm

Our region is getting the largest snow event it’s had this season, and Virginia is under a state of emergency. Nearly all of the region’s public and private schools have called off Thursday classes, and many courts and government offices are closed for the day. Dominion Virginia Power and Appalachian Power say they expect to see some outages as a result of the massive storm. Many of Virginia’s roads are treacherous and law enforcement agencies have urged drivers to avoid unnecessary travel.
