A day on the water could’ve gone better on the James River. Two adults and three children started a canoe ride Thursday afternoon at Howardsville only to have the boat capsize before they approached Warren Ferry. One of the adults made it to shore and called 911. The others floated downstream but were recovered safely on an island. Rescue crews responded but nobody required treatment.
