The President of the local NAACP says African-Americans should bring a camera or a video recorder when they see law enforcement agencies are making arrests. Rick Turner has told City Councilors he sees similarities between what happens in Charlottesville and Ferguson, Missouri. Turner (pictured) is also upset about some figures City Police Chief Tim Longo provided to the councilors earlier this year. He’s looking for reasons why black men are more likely to get stopped than white men. Roughly 100 local protesters staged a march and rally Saturday in Charlottesville. They voiced support for the late Michael Brown, who died near St. Louis. The funeral for the 18-year-old is happening Monday.
