The Albemarle Supervisors have voted to extend public water and sewer lines to the estate of Thomas Jefferson. They heard Wednesday night from Leslie Greene Bowman of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the owners of Monticello. Monticello officials say their water and sewer infrastructure was set up before World War Two. The most recent upgrade happened in 1976. The supervisors have often been reluctant to extend public utilities to the rural areas.
