McAuliffe Taps Retired Naval Officer For Cabinet Post

A retired Navy admiral will be Virginia’s next Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs and Homeland Security. 62 year-old John Harvey, Jr. will become part of Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe’s administration in January. Harvey’s last job as an active duty naval officer was in Norfolk.
