The Women’s Committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital held its annual meeting at the Boar’s Head Tuesday, but the star of the show wasn’t a member of the board. The show-stopper was a $449,000 check representing the proceeds from Martha’s Market, the In the Pink Tennis Tournament and Squash Cancer Tournament. Kathy Fender of the Women’s Committee says participation has grown in recent years. The money will support women’s health initiatives at Martha Jefferson.  They include breast health screening days, message therapy and exercise classes for those who undergo breast cancer treatment.
