People hoping for peace and an end to violence marched Friday night in the 700-block of Prospect Avenue in Charlottesville.  It was on that block that Otis Edward Scott was fatally wounded last Sunday, and became the city’s third homicide victim of 2014. Oscar Brown was killed May 17th. His mother, Aretha Brown (pictured above), was at the Friday march to mourn her son.  “I’m standing here, God, for me and mine,” she chanted through sobs.  Avery Fernando Gray. Jr., eventually turned himself in for her son’s murder. “Oscar Brown did not deserve what A.G. did to him.” Along with mourning her son, she had a message for those who’ve reached out. “I want to thank everybody for their acts of kindness and being there to support me and my family.” Police are still searching for suspects in the death of Otis Edward Scott.
