A Louisa County woman who gave her 6-month-old son a lethal amount of Benadryl has been sentenced to three years in prison. 32-year-old Tristan Goodwin (pictured) was sentenced Monday in Louisa Circuit Court. Goodwin also was sentenced to one more year for violating probation. Goodwin pleaded to involuntary manslaughter and felony child neglect. Goodwin’s son Tyler died last year. Emergency crews originally thought the boy’s death was due to sudden infant death syndrome. But prosecutors say lab results indicated a lethal dose of over-the-counter allergy medication in the baby’s system.
