Longtime Teachers Describe Current Challenges

A Charlottesville School Board member is overjoyed about a new state law that reduces the number of standardized exams. Colette Blount (pictured left) is glad students will spend less time taking the tests after July 1st. Carol Busching (pictured right), who’s a gifted education specialist, says many people who don’t teach get obsessed with the word accountability. Busching says she is accountable to her students. She teaches at Burnley-Moran Elementary. Blount and Busching spoke during a monthly breakfast for local Democrats.
