Local Jobless Rate Declines

The unemployment rate in our region has gone down. The Charlottesville area jobless rate in November was 4.1%, a drop of .5% from October. Ann Lang of the Virginia Employment Commission says the government shutdown affected the October figure. The statewide jobless rate was also down a-half percent in November. The Charlottesville region had the 31st lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.
