The trial of former governor Bob McDonnell and his wife will go forward as planned. A federal judge has turned down a request from McDonnell and his wife Maureen, who wanted most of the charges against them dropped. Judge James Spencer also denied their request for separate trials. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, are accused of accepting more than $165,000 in gifts and loans from a dietary supplement maker in exchange for helping to promote his products.
