Judge Rejects Request From Former Attorneys General

A federal judge will not accept a friend-of-the-court brief from five former attorneys general. The three Democrats and two Republicans filed a request last week asking Judge James Spencer to toss out the corruption charges against former Governor Bob McDonnell. Spencer rejected a similar friend-of-the-court request earlier this year from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. McDonnell (pictured right) and his wife Maureen (pictured left) are scheduled to stand trial in late July.
