Jail Time For Lacrosse Player Who Punched Officer

A University of Virginia men’s lacrosse player will have to spend some time in jail for punching  a police officer shortly before last Thanksgiving in the face. 21-year-old Carl Douglas Walrath (pictured) was sentenced to ten days in jail. He’ll also have to perform 50 hours of community service. Charlottesville Police say the student-athlete was among several people involved in a fight on University Avenue in the early morning hours of November 24th. Walrath is accused of hitting an officer who was trying to break up the fight.

The Denver Broncos will board fire trucks and roll slowly through the crowd-lined streets of the Mile High City to celebrate winning the Super Bowl.
