Ideal Weather For Foxfield Races, And Fewer Arrests

Ideal Weather For Foxfield Races, And Fewer Arrests

Those who attended the spring running of the Foxfield Races experienced ideal weather for socializing and watching horses, and the arrest totals were smaller than what we saw last year. Albemarle Police say the preliminary total number of arrests was 22. Alcohol-related offenses (pictured), such as being drunk-in-public or underage drinking, were the most common reasons for an arrest. One person was charged with inciting a riot. There was no riot, but police say the suspect who faces that charge spent Saturday engaged in behavior that might have promped others to riot. Two people were arrested for having cocaine and two others face marijuana charges. There were 37 arrests during the April 2013 event.
