A chance to get rid of harsh chemicals and other things you’ve been keeping in the basement or garage. Hazardous waste collection returns this fall. Rivanna Authority Director Tom Frederick says household hazardous waste will be taken at the Ivy landfill Friday, October 10th and Saturday, October 11th at the Ivy landfill. The Solid Waste Authority will hold other types of amnesty days on October 18th and the 25th, and November 1st. It’s all free for residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle, but Frederick points out others can get involved for a price.
