Higher Speed Limit On I-64 In Western Albemarle

A¬†higher speed limit is being allowed on a section of I-64 in western Albemarle. The speed limit on a 12-mile section¬†will increase from 65 to 70 miles per hour Thursday. That’s from just east of the Greenwood Station Road overpass near mile-marker 106 to just west of the Route 29 interchange at milepost 118. The speed limit change was made following a VDOT engineering study on the section of I-64 between Crozet and milepost 117 just west of Charlottesville.
