The Democratically-controlled State Senate of Virginia and the Republican controlled House of Delegates are back in Richmond. Leaders of the General Assembly hope they can reach consensus on a new two-year budget for the Commonwealth. The sticking point continues to be the possible expansion of the Medicaid rolls. State Senator Creigh Deeds (pictured left) and Delegate David Toscano (pictured second from right) discussed the current stalemate during a March 19th town hall at Monticello High School. The two Democratic lawmakers were joined by Ed Howell (pictured second from left) and Dr. Bill Hazel (pictured right) from Governor McAuliffe’s cabinet.
