General Assembly Repeals Hybrid Tax

The tax on hybrid vehicles could soon be a thing of the past. Both chambers of the General Assembly have approved getting rid of the tax that was put into last year’s transportation funding package. Governor McAuliffe says he’ll sign it. Hybrid owners have said they should be rewarded, not punished, for saving energy. Without the tax, the state will lose about $7 million a year in revenue.
