We’re paying about 11 cents more for a gallon of gas since the beginning of the month. Tammy Gobert of AAA says part of that can be blamed on political unrest in some oil-producing nations. Gobert says we’re still better off than last year at this time. Between February 1st and February 24th, 2013 the price went up 36 cents. During the same time this year, the¬†increase was eight cents. Gobert says Virginia is tied¬†for sixth in the nation for having the lowest average price. The average price in the Charlottesville area is a $3.19 a gallon. The statewide average is $3.23.
