Local winemakers’ grape crops weren’t the only ones facing danger in the recent late spring frosts.  Tim Henley of Henley’s Orchard in Albemarle County says half of his peach crop was literally nipped in the bud by cold temeratures.  His apple crop was also affected, but not to the same extent.  Henley says Jack Frost actually did him a favor by thinning the peach crop. He’s found a full crop typically leaves him with more peaches than he knows what to do with.
