Michael G. Morris faces up to fifty years in prison after pleading guilty to three child pornography charges. The former associate dean at UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce pleaded “not guilty” in December, but changed that plea in federal court on Monday. He now faces up to fifty years in prison for two counts of distributing or receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child porn. Morris got caught after sharing pictures and videos with an undercover FBI agent on a subscription website hosted outside the US. Investigators traced that subscription to Morris’ home computer, after which they raided his home and found more than 1,000 images and videos of child pornography. Tim Heaphy, US Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, says the images included everything from toddlers and pre-pubescent teens to his favorite, teenage girls engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Investigators could find no evidence of Morris viewing images on his computer at UVA, he did use his university email to pay for the pictures and videos.  Morris will be sentenced on July 14th.
