Former Greene Deputy Sent To Prison For Soliciting Minor

A former Greene County deputy has been sentenced for soliciting a minor online. 56-year-old Robert Beverage (pictured) of Ruckersville will spend two years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of online soliciation of a minor. Beverage will be on supervised probation when he’s released and will be required to register as a sex offender. State Police say Beverage used two social media accounts from May through June of last year and received at least eight graphic images from an underage female. Police say Beverage met the girl in the course of his duties as a prisoner transport and courtroom security deputy. He was arrested in October.
