Both Virginia Men’s and Women’s Soccer hit the road Friday for their first matches away from Klockner Stadium.
No. 3 Virginia Women’s Soccer have opened up the 2014 campaign with a 3-0 record outscoring their opponents 12-0. The Cavaliers have been led by a pair of juniors thus far, Brittany Ratcliffe and Makenzy Doniak. Each have posted three goals and two assists in three appearances.
Tomorrow’s meeting with Alabama marks the start of a two game road trip before the Cavaliers return home on September 12th. The visit to Tuscaloosa will be the first in program history. Alabama holds a record of 2-1-1.
For No. 3 Virginia Men’s Soccer Friday night, it’s also a match away from home against Tulsa.
George Gelnovatch’s side won their opener in thrilling fashion over No. 25 ODU in extra time off a golden goal from Sr. Ryan Zinkhan to secure a 1-0 triumph.
Following tomorrow’s meeting with Tulsa, Virginia travels to take on UAB on Sunday at 1 p.m. to cap the two game road trip.
