Federal Prosecutors Say They Fixed Glitches In McDonnell Case

Federal prosecutors say they’ve fixed some technical problems in their case against Bob and Maureen McDonnell. A legal team for the former Governor (pictured right) and First Lady (pictured left) had accused the U.S. Justice Department of bringing in five million pages of electronic documents in a chaotic format. The prosecutors say they have already provided hard drives with the material that the defendants are requesting. The McDonnells are accused of taking more than $165 thousand in loans and gifts from their onetime friend Jonnie Williams. Williams used to run Star Scientific Incorporated. The McDonnells have pleaded not guilty and their trial begins in late July.
