A woman was killed in a collision Tuesday morning on Interstate-81 in Augusta County. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Lara D. Gass of Lexington. It happened shortly before 9 a.m. on the northbound side near mile-marker 210. State Police say two cars collided and a tractor-trailer braked to avoid that accident. A car behind the truck was not able to stop in time, and it ran into the rear of the tractor-trailer. State Police say Gass died at the scene.
