Virginia’s Secretary of Education wants to make sure teachers can keep a passion for their profession. Anne Bright Holton says she’s tired of seeing critics “beat up” teachers. Holton (pictured)appeared Thursday during a Regional Chamber of Commerce event at the DoubleTree Hotel. She also made an earlier stop at Sutherland Middle School where students had a videoconferencing link with neighboring Hollymead Elementary School. The Chamber of Commerce also honored Bill Howard as this year’s Small Business Person of the Year.
