A dorm room will cost more during the next academic year at the University of Virginia. The University’s Rich Kovatch says the average increase will be just under 4%. Kovatch has told the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors the extra money will pay for improvments to the Gooch-Dillard residential area, and the various first-year dorms. The higher rates will take effect when the newest Wahoos begin classes in August.
