Augusta County investigators believe a fatal shooting of a Verona couple was a murder-suicide. The bodies of a 56-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were found in the master bedroom of a house last Thursday. Both died from gunshot wounds. The names have not been released. Augusta Sheriff Randy Fisher says investigators believe the woman died last Sunday or Monday and the man died Tuesday. Fisher says the woman’s 25-year-old son called authorities Thursday and reported hearing gunshots two days earlier. He says the son did not check out the noise. Fisher says the son is not a suspect.
