The Dave Matthews Band is giving more than $350,000 to 62 local non-profits in the latest round of donations from the group’s Bama Works Fund. It’s a regular occurrence, and the most recent donations include $10,000 each to the Piedmont Family YMCA, Meals on Wheels of Charlotesville-Albemarle, the Jefferson Area Board for Aging, and nine other programs. Among those receiving $6000 to $8000 are Charlottesville Tomorrow, The Haven, and the Orange County Adult Education Center. Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, which administers the program, says it’s deeply grateful.
Organizers of the original Woodstock festival are trying to get something together to mark the golden anniversary of the event in 2019.
