Daily Routines For City Students Will Change In August

Daily Routines For City Students Will Change In August

When Charlottesville kids troop back to school in late August, the kindergarten and elementary school students will begin classes a half-hour earlier than they do now. That means an 8 a.m. start-time for the division’s youngest students. Middle-schoolers can now look forward to an 8:30 a.m. start time, and their older brothers and sisters in high school will begin at 9:05 a.m. ¬†Some Buford Middle School students (pictured) are shown on their campus.¬† That represents a start that’s 50 minutes later for those in middle school, and five minutes later for the high school kids. The school board has also approved a hike in school lunch prices. Both a breakfast and a lunch will cost a quarter more than it does this semester. Breakfasts at every level will be $1.50. Up to the 8th grade, a lunch will cost $2.25 and anyone who’s at CHS will pay $2.50.
