The Albemarle Supervisors will hold a public hearing later this month on a new package of possible improvements for 29 North. They have agreed to let the public react to a more than $203 million plan that former VDOT Commissioner Philip Shucet has presented to the Commonwealth Transportation Board. Former CTB member Carter Myers (pictured) owns a car dealership on 29 North, and he opposes a possible new interchange at 29 and Rio Road. The supervisors will held their public hearing at 6 p.m. on May 27th in the main County Office Building. The local Metropolitan Planning Organization is expected to take up the same issue later that week.
