Councilors Hear More Complaints About Speeding Drivers

A resident of the Midway Manor home for seniors says she’s tired of seeing speed demons zipping through her neighborhood. Mary Carey says South Street has become dangerous. South Street resident Mary Gilliam¬†has told City Councilors she¬†can’t get out of her driveway many mornings. Meanwhile, the councilors have authorized a $16 million bond sale. It will include street repairs, sidewalks, a new fire engine, and a number of upgrades for school buildings.
