Chamber Names Winner Of “Q” Award

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce has named the annual recipient of the Q Businesswoman Award. The 2014 winner is Carolyn Cullen (pictured), who will be honored during the Chamber Quadruplicity Conference on February 10th. Cullen most recently  served as the Regional Advertising Director for the Daily Progress. She started Charlottesville Woman magazine and its annual 4 under 40 awards that honor local women making a difference in the community. Cullen serves on the United Way – Thomas Jefferson Area Board of Directors and its School Readiness Impact Team. She also volunteers with the Greene County Food Bank.

Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band was a paean to LSD because of the initials in the title, but it was actually based on a drawing that John Lennon's young son Julian brought home from school. He told his father the drawing was of Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Lucy Vodden, now living in Surrey just outside of London _ drifted apart after schoolyard days, but they have gotten back in touch as Lennon has tried to help Vodden cope with Lupus, a life-threatening disease.
