Virginia Women’s Basketball couldn’t make it three wins in a row Sunday afternoon, as they fell at the Carrier Dome to Syracuse 84-75.

Sarah Imovbioh led the Cavaliers in points and rebounds in the loss, scoring 21 and grabbing 13 boards.

The Cavaliers came out of the gates strong building a double digit lead behind Kelsey Wolf’s perimeter shooting and Sarah Imovbioh’s activity on the offensive glass. However the Orange seized momentum in the final minute of the first half by hitting back to back three’s, one of which was nearly a half-court heave as time expired.

The loss drops Virginia to a record of 10-10 overall (3-4 ACC). Next up on the schedule is meeting with Wake Forest in Winston Salem Thursday Jan. 30.
