Budget Squabbles Continue In Richmond

The two chambers of the General Asembly remain split on whether to use federal Medicaid monwy to provide health insurance for more low-income residents. The House of Delegates and State Senate continued a long standing tradition Thursday when each approved their own chamber’s spending plan, and rejected a rival plan from the other chamber. The Republican-controlled House has rejected expanding Medicaid coverage for up to 400,000 Virginians. Three GOP State Senators voted with the Democrats on a plan to provide expanded coverage.
