Boyd Wants Board Of Elections To Penalize Anti-Bypass Coalition

Boyd Wants Board Of Elections To Penalize Anti-Bypass Coalition

An Albemarle supervisor is making another attempt to penalize a group that flooded the local airwaves during the last election cycle. Ken Boyd (pictured) says a coalition that opposes the Western Bypass violated the law thanks to the broadcast commercials it aired last fall.  Boyd is urging the Virginia Board of Elections to impose fines against the people who paid for the ads. He notes Albemarle Commonwealth’s Attorney Denise Lunsford has already investigated the group’s actions and found misdemeanor violations.  Lunsford has announced she won’t prosecute those who bought the ads. Boyd believes the voice of bypass opponent George Larie should have been part of those commercials. He was a Monday guest on the Schilling Show.
