Bedford Schools Slash Dozens Of Teaching Jobs

Albemarle Schools isn’t the only district dealing with a budget gap. The Bedford County School Board plans to trim 46 teaching positions to cut costs.
It will mean a higher student-teacher ratio and the teachers who work in Bedford County in the fall will pay more of the costs of their health-care. The board chairman says retirements and relocations could mean fewer current employees will lose their jobs.
