A bear that attacked a Staunton man in West Virginia is still in the wild. The bear attacked Steven Krichbaum last Friday after his dog went after her two cubs. Krichbaum and his dog escaped when the 59-year-old man hit the bear with a rock. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources set traps for the female bear last Friday, but she has yet to be caught. Krichbaum was taken to a hospital, but has since been released.
