McDonnells Ask Judge To Dismiss Charges

Attorneys for Bob and Maureen McDonnell have asked a federal judge to dismiss the corruption charges against them. The lawyers for the former Governor and First Lady have accused federal prosecutors of trying to stretch the bounds of  bribery laws. The McDonnells are scheduled to stand trial in late July. Federal prosecutors indicted the pair in January, and they are scheduled to stand trial in late July. They have been charged with accepting gifts and loans from their onetime friend Jonnie Williams, who used to run Star Scientific.
