Area Veterans React To Scandals Involving V.A. Hospitals

Local veterans are at no loss for words when it comes to recent scandals at Veterans Administration hospitals. 90-year-old World War II veteran Vaughan Wagnon (pictured) has been going to Richmond’s McGuire V.A. Hospital since 1959, and he hopes the problems can be fixed. A recent CBS poll revealed 45% of Americans feel Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki should resign after complaints surfaced about secret waiting lists at some V.A. hospitals.
