Virginia’s senators and congressmen have condemned the recent crash of a Malaysian Air passenger plane in Ukraine. U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D- Richmond) says the missile attack on the flight that originated in Amsterdam “rips away the last pretense regarding Vladimir Putin’s intentions.” Kaine adds “by encouraging and arming separatists in eastern Ukraine, Putin has shown a complete disregard for the sovereignty of that nation.” Area congressman Robert Hurt (R- Chatham) says the U.S. needs to react boldly and directly since the list of crash victims includes Americans. Hurt (pictured center) calls the situation a disturbing act of aggression.
